Cabinet Refinishing That Looks Factory-New
We refinish kitchen cabinets, bath vanities, and built-ins. Doors come off, get labeled, get sanded, get sprayed in an off-site booth, and come back hung clean with the hardware reinstalled. Faster than a remodel and a fraction of the cost, and the finish is a real factory-quality coating, not a brush-and-roll job that telegraphs every stroke.
Why Refinish Instead of Replace
If the boxes are sound and the layout works, refinishing gets you a new kitchen for a tenth of what a tear-out costs. The doors and frames carry 80 percent of the visual weight. Change the color and the hardware, and you have a different kitchen. If the boxes are blown out or the layout has to change, you need a remodel, not a refinish. We will tell you straight on the walk-through.
Our Process
1. Walk-through and color choice. Sample chips, sheen options, hardware conversation.
2. Remove and label. Every door and drawer face comes off, labeled with tape that maps to a diagram so it goes back on the same hinge.
3. Prep. Doors travel to our shop. Frames stay on site. Every surface sanded, degreased, tack-cloth wiped. Old finish does not get covered, it gets prepped.
4. Prime. A bonding primer that grips melamine, oak, maple, and the spectrum of substrates we see in the Treasure Valley.
5. Spray finish. Doors and drawer faces go to the spray booth, two or three coats of a cabinet-grade urethane or pre-cat lacquer with full flash time between coats. The booth gets us the factory-clean finish you cannot get with a brush.
6. Frames painted on site. Frames draped in place, same finish system. The kitchen is closed for about a week.
7. Reinstall. Doors come back and go on their original hinges. Hardware reinstalled, new pulls fitted if you are changing them. Final walk with you.
How Long It Takes
A standard kitchen runs about seven to ten working days end to end, with your kitchen out of full use for about a week. Bath vanities run two to three days. Larger kitchens with islands and pantry cabinets stretch to two weeks.
You will be able to use the kitchen the day we are done. Full cure on a cabinet finish is 30 days, so we ask you to be gentle with door pulls and avoid heavy cleaners for the first month while the coating finishes hardening.
Materials and Colors
Sherwin-Williams ProClassic and Emerald Urethane are the standard. We use Benjamin Moore Advance often. Heaviest-use kitchens get a pre-cat lacquer. The spray booth plus a cabinet-grade urethane is the difference between factory finish and brush marks.
Two-tone is popular right now (white uppers with a deeper lower or island), as are soft greens, navy, sage, black, charcoal, and warm taupes. Pick a color you will still like in five years. We will not talk you into a trend.

Common Questions
How long will my kitchen be out of use?
About a week. We close down the kitchen on day one when the doors come off. Frames painted in place over the next several days. Doors come back at the end. You can use the kitchen normally the day we finish, just gently for the first month while the finish cures.
Can you refinish oak grain so it looks like shaker?
Oak grain telegraphs through paint unless we fill it. We can grain-fill the doors so the finish reads smooth and modern. It adds time and cost but it is the difference between an oak kitchen painted white and a real-looking white kitchen.
What if my cabinets are thermofoil or melamine?
We can refinish them. Thermofoil and melamine need a different bonding primer than wood. We identify the substrate on the walk-through and price accordingly.
Can you reuse my existing hardware?
Yes. Hardware comes off, gets bagged with the door it belongs to, and goes back on. If you are upgrading to new pulls, bring us the new ones and we will swap them in at reinstall. We can fill old holes and drill new ones if the new pulls have a different center.
Soft-close hinges, can you add those?
Yes, easy upgrade at reinstall. Tell us before we start so we can spec the hinges to your existing hardware pattern.
