Our System
Most contractors slap one part on and call it epoxy. We use a full system because a real garage floor coating has to do more than look good for a year.
1. Diamond grind. Concrete gets ground with a planetary grinder pulling a HEPA vacuum. This opens the pores so the base coat can mechanically bond. Skip this step and the coating peels in a season. We do not skip it.
2. Crack repair. Every crack chased out, vacuumed, and filled with a polyurea repair compound. Joints filled or honored depending on the floor and the use. We will tell you which.
3. Base coat. A 100 percent solids epoxy base, troweled or rolled depending on the floor. Color tinted to your spec.
4. Decorative flake broadcast. Hand-broadcast vinyl flake into the wet base. We carry a full range of flake blends. We can color-match the flake to the rest of your house, your shop colors, or a specific look you have in mind.
5. Polyaspartic topcoat. A clear polyaspartic finish over the flake. Polyaspartic stays UV stable so it does not yellow the way old-school clear epoxies do. Cures fast enough to drive on inside 24 to 48 hours.
Color, Flake, and How Long It Takes
Five baseline flake blends (slate, graphite, mocha, granite, custom). Pick the base coat color, pick the flake, and look at it on a real sample board in your garage light before we commit. Most two-car garages are a two-day install. Day one: grind, repair, base. Day two: flake and topcoat. Foot traffic the next day, vehicle traffic in 24 to 48 hours.
In the dead of Idaho winter (below 40 degree floor temperature) we space the schedule out or wait for a warm stretch. Cold concrete fights the coating and we do not skip cure for a deadline.

Common Questions
How long until I can park on the new floor?
Foot traffic the day after the topcoat. Vehicle traffic 24 to 48 hours after the topcoat depending on garage temperature. Full chemical cure (heavy use, jack stands, hot tires from a long drive) is seven days.
Do you do hot-tire pickup?
Polyaspartic topcoats are rated against hot-tire pickup. Older epoxy-only systems are not, and that is why DIY kits from a hardware store fail. We use the polyaspartic specifically to handle hot tires in Idaho summer.
Will the coating crack if the concrete cracks?
We chase and fill every existing crack before coating. If the slab develops a new crack from settling or freeze-thaw, the coating will telegraph it. That is the concrete moving, not the coating failing, and it is not covered under the warranty.
Can I drive on it with salted tires in winter?
Yes. Snow, slush, and road salt are part of what the polyaspartic is designed to handle. Wipe up brine when you can; it will not damage the coating but it can leave a chalky residue you can mop off.
What about basement or shop floors?
Same system, different sizing. Basements get a system tuned for moisture vapor transmission. Larger commercial floors get a moisture test before we quote.
Can you match flake to my house exterior or my truck?
